If you're wondering where the word Lutra comes from you are not alone. Lutra is the Latin name for otter. Since otters are a particularly fun loving creature that is very effective in the water despite being a "land animal", it served well as the inspiration for a dive shop that specializes in taking land dwellers and making them incredibly effective at playing in the water!
We teach most of our open water courses through RAID (rebreathers association of international divers) because there is a strong focus on quality skills that will serve you well in entry level dives as well as set a strong foundation for higher levels of technical diving.
We also teach SDI (scuba diving international) and cannot understate the value of an organization that has such a long track record for quality.
And for our public safety courses we teach through ERDI (Emergency response divers international) and love the fact that they are an agency dedicated solely to high quality public safety diving at all levels.
All of these agencies are accredited and your certification will be recognized around the globe. If you were certified under a different agency it is very easy to transfer to any of these to continue your dive training courses.
